You spot the tiger immediately. It is bright orange against a green jungle. That is because humans have three types of color receptors. A deer only has two. It cannot tell the difference between red, orange, and green. To a grazing deer, that bright orange predator is the exact color of the leaves. It vanishes entirely into the tall grass. The tiger never needed to evolve green fur. It just needed to hunt animals that could not see orange.
