A 12-week clinical trial tracked what happens when adults consume daily fermented kimchi powder. Their immune cells became significantly better at targeting actual threats—like viruses and bacteria—without going into overdrive. Here’s what happened: an A320 was cruising at altitude when the cockpit lit up with a window heat warning.

A pilot had bought a simple sunshade online and stuck it to the sliding side window.

Shortly after, the window started overheating and warping.

By the time the plane landed at a diversion airport, it had cracked.

Airbus says the sunshade acted like a thermal blanket, trapping heat against the glass.

Their fix?

Ban sunshades, tablet mounts, and phone holders from cockpit windows entirely.

But here’s the line buried in Airbus’s own report: the window heating system had a broken sensor.

It was already feeding bad data before the sunshade ever came into play.

The warning doesn’t stop at sunshades, either.

Airbus says any suction-mounted device — tablet holders, phone mounts, you name it — could come loose during turbulence, block visibility, get in the way of emergency equipment, or stop a sliding window from opening if it’s ever needed in an evacuation.

Their fix: certified mounts on the window frame only, and stick to the factory sun visors.

Pilots online are furious.

Thousands fly with the exact same $20-30 sunshades every single day with zero problems.

Their argument: the factory visors are notoriously weak, and pilots have been improvising sun protection for years because Airbus never built anything that actually works at altitude.

So now the real question is: was this ever about a sunshade — or is Airbus using it to cover for a heating system that failed on its own?

Experts believe this matrix was used in elite metalworking workshops, pressed and cast in precious metals to produce ornate decorative pieces. It stands as the only artifact of its kind discovered in Dacia, highlighting the sophistication and international connectivity of this ancient civilization. Because of its rarity and importance, the Museum of Dacian and Roman Civilization in Deva houses it in a specially secured room, where lighting and presentation allow visitors to admire each facet in full detail.

Its discovery under a fallen tree reminds us how archaeology sometimes hinges on nature’s whims. This matrix offers a tangible link to the artistic practices of Dacian elites in the troubled era before Roman conquest. Sarmizegetusa Regia itself was the Dacian capital until the second century AD, a strategic religious and political centre nestled atop 1,200 metres of mountain terrain, now a UNESCO World Heritage Site and source of many artifacts, including this mold.

Fun Fact: Even though the matrix is carved with exotic beasts like hippopotamus and rhinoceros, these animals never lived in Dacia—they were likely known only through trade, myth, or stories from amphitheater spectacles. Their presence on the mold hints at a worldview that blended imagination with real and exotic prestige.
