These tube-like structures are suddenly growing (or appeared?) in my lawn in Massachusetts. They are very small – maybe an eighth of an inch diameter or less. There’s a lot of ant activity nearby, but these are new.

I absent mindedly grabbed one and the texture was firm but papery. It gave me the feeling of an insect nest, which sent me running as I’m allergic to wasps.

Any ideas?

On another note, does anyone think this is fixable 🥲

I got these at a local craft meet. My crocheting is not this good.
