I found this “key” in a drawer of my apartment after moving in. I tried to look up “privacy key” but couldn’t really find anything that looks like it. Would love to know what is it and how it’s used. Thanks in advance, everybody!

Joe Rogan said the only reason Democrats oppose voter ID laws is because they want to cheat in elections.
Senate Minority Leader Chuck Schumer has argued that Republican-backed voter ID legislation is comparable to “Jim Crow 2.0.”
The debate over voter ID requirements and election integrity continues to divide lawmakers and voters across the country.

Your gut is not a passenger. It is a chemical factory.

Right now, medicine largely waits for blood sugar levels to fail before treating diabetes. But a massive Harvard-linked study just confirmed that your risk is already hiding inside the bacteria and viruses living in your digestive tract. They found specific microbial strains and bacteriophages that act as early warning systems, churning out metabolic trouble long before standard labs catch a problem.

This shifts the entire conversation. It means diabetes is increasingly looking like an ecosystem problem, not just a pancreas problem. And unlike your genetics, a biological ecosystem can actually be changed.

A woman is suing Southwest Airlines after she says a fellow passenger sexually assaulted her on a two-hour flight — and that the airline saw it coming.

According to the lawsuit, 39-year-old Jeff Lorenzo boarded Southwest flight 3548 from Seattle to Sacramento on August 20, 2024, already showing signs of intoxication.

Flight attendants allegedly served him at least two more alcoholic drinks anyway.

His assigned seat put him right next to the woman, sandwiched between him and his coworker, for the entire flight.

She claims that over the next two hours, Lorenzo repeatedly touched her without consent — and that no one intervened.

Federal law bans airlines from boarding or serving anyone showing visible signs of intoxication.

The lawsuit accuses Southwest of negligence and gross negligence, claiming crew members weren’t properly trained to spot the warning signs or to act once things escalated.

Lorenzo has since pleaded guilty to simple assault and was recommended for 30 days in prison, followed by 18 months of probation.

The woman’s case against Southwest is separate — she’s seeking damages to be determined at trial.

Southwest says it can’t comment on active litigation.

Whose responsibility is it when a passenger crosses the line — the person who did it, or the airline that kept serving him?

Long ago, early humans mated with a mysterious hominin group that has no name, no fossils, and no face. This ancient population doesn’t match Neanderthals, Denisovans, or any other known species. Yet, their DNA still lives on in us today, silently carried by millions of people across the globe.

Scientists first uncovered signs of this unknown group by analysing the genomes of modern humans from sub-Saharan Africa, Asia, and Oceania. What they found were genetic sequences that couldn’t be traced to any recognised human ancestor. This “ghost population”—sometimes called archaic introgression—contributed to the human gene pool tens of thousands of years ago, but left no physical trace behind. No bones, no teeth, no tools—just fragments of DNA that don’t belong to anyone we’ve ever identified.

Recent research has deepened the mystery. Using advanced genome mapping and artificial intelligence, scientists now believe this unknown group interbred with our ancestors as recently as 20,000 to 40,000 years ago, suggesting they were a widespread and possibly long-surviving population. Even more puzzling is the possibility that there may have been more than one unknown group, each mixing with modern humans at different times and locations.

This challenges our understanding of human evolution. Instead of a simple line from ancient apes to modern Homo sapiens, we’re now seeing a web of ancient encounters, with interbreeding between various hominin species—including ones we still know nothing about. The human family tree is far more tangled than we ever imagined, and we may still be carrying the legacy of a people who vanished without a trace.

Fun Fact: Some of these mysterious genes are linked to immune system responses, meaning this unknown group may have helped early humans adapt to new diseases and environments.
