Norway just quietly killed the petrol car. In 2025, fully electric vehicles made up 95.9% of all new passenger car sales. But the real detail is the raw data at the bottom. Diesel and petrol cars combined accounted for a mere 0.7%. There was no sudden, heavy-handed ban. Just decades of sustained tax exemptions, toll discounts, and aggressive charging infrastructure. Buying a gas car there simply stopped making financial sense. The rest of the world is taking notes.
