Getting custom dentures usually takes months of appointments. Connor Gibson does it in a single weekend. He is a 22-year-old engineer in Tennessee. He taught himself dental anatomy and 3D printing to build the very first mobile digital denture lab in the US for the nonprofit Remote Area Medical. Now, patients without insurance can walk into a two-day pop-up clinic and leave with a fitted, 3D-printed smile. His current record is 35 custom sets in one weekend. Roughly 72 million adults in the US lack dental insurance. He bypassed the entire traditional system to get them care.
