The Trump administration is delaying more than $1 billion in federal Medicaid payments to California and Minnesota as part of its ongoing effort to crack down on healthcare fraud, Department of Health and Human Services Secretary Robert F. Kennedy Jr. announced Tuesday.
During a press conference, Kennedy said HHS is “not sending Medicaid or Medicare dollars out the door until we have confidence that they are being spent lawfully and appropriately.” According to an HHS news release, the payment delays are intended to support the administration’s ongoing effort to combat fraud, waste, and abuse in Medicaid while protecting federal taxpayer dollars.
Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services (CMS) Administrator Dr. Mehmet Oz said during the briefing that the days of fraudsters “stealing from the American taxpayer are over.” -

Defense Secretary Pete Hegseth just changed the military health assessment. If you are a service member over 30, they are now checking your testosterone. Every year. It is mandatory. The policy offers voluntary hormone replacement therapy if your levels drop. The stated goal is combat readiness and longevity. But urologists are pushing back. They say testing asymptomatic people in mass screenings is counterproductive. Observers are also asking how this new protocol impacts female troops. It is a massive shift in how the military defines physical readiness.

A United Airlines pilot ran out of places to land — twice.
Flight 2078 was flying from Houston to Phoenix Monday night when monsoon storms slammed into the Phoenix Valley.
Heavy rain.
Strong winds.
The kind of fast-building summer storm cells that hit Sky Harbor every year.
Air traffic controllers coordinated with the crew as conditions deteriorated.
The safest option wasn’t a backup commercial airport — it was Luke Air Force Base in Glendale, Arizona. An active military installation.
“The crew of United flight 2078 elected to land at Luke Air Force Base as the safest course of action,” a United spokesperson confirmed.
The Boeing 737-900 landed without incident, carrying 154 passengers and six crew.
But landing at a military base isn’t like landing at an airport.
Passengers had to move through security protocols never required at a commercial gate, wait for ground transport that had to be arranged on the fly, and deal with delayed baggage — all in the middle of the night, all unplanned.
United bussed everyone from the base to Phoenix Sky Harbor to finish their trip.
“We’re grateful for the support from the Air Force and our teams at Phoenix Sky Harbor for finding a solution for our customers,” the airline said.
United hasn’t said whether passengers were offered compensation or rebooking help.
This isn’t the first time Luke AFB has stepped in during severe Phoenix weather, though a diversion of this size is rare.
The plane itself flew back to Houston empty the next day, no passengers onboard, closing out one of the more unusual diversions United has had in recent memory.

Bud Light’s latest pathetic attempt to win back customers with patriotic slogans rings hollow after years of alienating their core audience. Groveling for American tax breaks while shifting production to Canada shows where their true priorities lie when the spotlight fades.
American consumers have long memories. Brands that lecture, pander, and offshore jobs deserve to feel the consequences in the marketplace. Loyalty belongs to companies that actually support U.S. workers and values.
Plenty of quality beers are brewed right here at home by patriots who respect their customers. Skip the flip-floppers and choose authentic American options that don’t play games with national pride.
