Around 20 min ago my cat ate a small piece of a bergamot leaf. My roommate (apparently) knows a lot about plants and decided to offer my cat a bergamot leaf saying it was similar to catnip and when I asked if it was safe he said yes. Normally my cats decline his plant offerings so I let her decide for herself, not knowing it was toxic to kitties. I looked it up immediately after and now I’m super worried about her. It was a pretty small piece and shes acting completely fine so far, but I’m unsure of what to do. Google says call poison control, should I do that? Is it over the top to freak out if she’s acting normal? All vets near me are closed and the closest ER vet is an hour away. Should I schedule an appt for first thing tomorrow morning or just strictly monitor her? Help 🙁
