A small update/additional detail on my then-BF situation after this event: “My male friend smashed my items after I rejected-ish him”https://www.reddit.com/r/GirlDinnerDiaries/s/zm78MspAp1
So there was a short period of time when the three of us were together in my room. That’s when I started crying and begging my male friend to stop talking nonsense (because I used to value him as a dear, PLATONIC friend).
My then-BF secretly recorded our conversation. I think he was also trying to calm my friend down but they were speaking in their language so I didn’t understand any single thing (they’re both Indians, I’m not).
Few days passed after that night, me and my then-BF went to visit his other friends’ place. He said he’s gonna make fun of that friend by playing that recording on their TV. I felt conflicted but said “sure, as long as it doesn’t have the part of me crying”.
He proceeded to airplay it on their TV.
And there was a full fucking minute of me crying and sobbing and begging for my friend to stop acting weird.
The room felt awkward, his friends went kinda silent but I pretended that I was okay with the recording being played until the end (+-15 min), holding back my embarrassment and anger.
When we headed out, I asked him “why did you play it? I was clearly crying there.”
THIS GUY SAID: “no you were not? Were you crying???”
And I kid you not, you could hear it in the recording + my friend in the recording even said something like, “don’t cry”, and one of my BF’s friends also asked why I was crying and kinda comforted me.
He did apologize after that, but we broke up months later when I found out he cheated when he went back to India for summer break. I remember he also made fun of my panic attacks and anxiety 🤷🏻♀️.
Anyway, none of the people in this story still stays in my life. Cut them all off.
