food: tofu sandwich from Radio Bakery!!! yummy lol

    need to rant:

Please know I know what I need to do and at the same time, I feel anxious having to do this. I just want to rant about it. I know, closed mouths don't get fed.

So my old roommate (she moved in with her bf now) / really good friend owes me around ~ $400. This amount has been accumulated for the past 2 years. For context, she quit her job because of working at such a toxic environment and she wanted to go after her dream career. Yay! Unfortunately. with all the tech layoffs – the competition pool got bigger and It was so hard to see her struggling to find a job and live in NYC. I get it, living in the city is so expensive. When she was looking/applying for jobs – I was never ever in a hurry to get my money back. It was small things like, toilet paper, Spotify family monthly charges (split by 5 other people), trips that she agreed to go, food, etc.

At first I wasn't in a hurry for it, nor I was bothered by it because I just thought she would pay back when she gets a job. She then moved in with her boyfriend and she got a job about almost a year ago working in education (which isn't her dream job). I thought she had other finances things to catch up/pay for so I wasn't going to chase her like a evil landlord. Now that, its been about 2 years and a year into her new job – as I am charging her on venmo for the monthly Spotify charge – I see so many of the old charges she has not fulfilled yet. It bothers me because she was telling me how she's attended a bachelorette trips + seeing that she was paying other people back for food on venmo and I am sitting here like…. man. 😞

and Im so sure all my past charges on Venmo is gone now. I know what I need to do and I know I need to have this conversation but this is just a small rant. I don't mind having to discuss a payment plan but it just sucks brooo, like really? Why do i need to bring this up? I thought we were on the same principal wave length. I don't get any support from my family and I am in the middle of trying to move next year so I need all the money I can get.
