he’s the first guy i’ve ever loved and he treats me unbelievably well, aside from my dad. whenever i talk about my dad with my boyfriend, he treats him like he’s still alive. my dad passed in my early teens and now i’m in my 20s.

when the subject of baby names came up, the first one he suggested for a boy was my father’s name. i started crying because it made me realize how much he pays attention to how i speak about and loved my father. i don’t talk about him often, but when i do, he is attentive and listens.

now, we’re not married and we’re not actively planning on having kids yet since we’re young, but oh boy do i plan to marry him after this conversation. my heart nearly exploded with admiration and love for him.
