So the other day I pull into my driveway and I see her laying in my neighbour’s driveway in the shade. It was hot out so I went to check on her make sure she was alright. She was a little scared at first but then quickly warmed up was letting me pet her so I assume she has had human interaction. I went inside to get her some water and when I came back out she was gone. Now I’m at my parents the next few days helping them with some work and when I come home we have a kitty litter box, toys and food. While I was gone she was coming around my family(wife and kids) and they let her in the house which I’m on the fence about.
1 she could belong to someone else
2 I don’t know a thing about cats but willing to learn fast, that being said do I need to potty train her?
3 I feel like we need to take her to a vet before we let her into our home but she is allowed on my enclosed porch and we are taking her to the vet if she allows us to in the next day or two.
I do want her to come into our home and to be part of our family but I don’t want to force it or rush it. She has no collar and poor thing is sneezing a bit so I assume she has a cold or something? We named her Midnight but she answers to Mimi. The past 3 night she has come around at dinner time but stayed outside all night as far as I know. This morning I got up early went out on the porch opened the door and called her name a couple times. I sat down and left the door open, she was on my porch a minute later. She actually sat on my lap for a good 15 minutes. It’s raining out so she’s been on my porch all morning. I love her already but if she belongs to someone else then I will let her go. I will gladly take any advice or constructive criticism on that matter. There is missing cat posters up in the neighbourhood but none for her. I think she needs a forever home and it feels like she has made her choice.
