Me and my friends were planning this trip to Mallorca for months. It’s my dream scenario, and after a bad breakup it became the one thing I was genuinely looking forward to, but my excitement quickly faded once I found out they were also inviting this other guy that I really don’t like.
He just gives me the strongest heebie jeebies, and my intuition is rarely wrong. And even if I tried to ignore it, he just doesn’t allow you to forget he’s in the same space as you.
Beacause he talks.
All. The. Time.
And whatever you just imagined your version of „all the time” could mean, it’s worse. It’s literally – non stop. Last time we hung out for about 5 hours, and there was not A FULL MINUTE – FULL 60 SECONDS, that he didn’t talk. I checked.
If at the very least he was actually talking about something interesting, but no. It’s literally his stream of consciousness. As if you broadcasted what your own brain conjures when your phone dies on the train, and you need to entertain yourself with random thoughts and memories for 4 hours – a sandwich you ate that day, what your ex boyfriend might be doing, a reminder to call the plumber guy before 12, and then how your pants are giving you a nasty wedgie. That’s the type of shit he talks about.
Like I genuinely DON’T CARE. There is a reason you keep that stuff to yourself!
It really just feels like energy vampirism because he doesn’t allow you to have a moment for yourself. It’s like all the attention needs to be on him 24/7. Other people notice it too, but they just laugh it off with an “Oh, that’s just him.” Everyone seems to love him, so if I admitted he genuinely creeps me out, I doubt anyone would take me seriously.
If humans didn’t place so much importance on politeness, I would just tell him to shut the fuck up. UGH.
I'm really considering cancelling on my part. It's been such a rough year, I don't know if I wanna potentially lose money on a trip I won't enjoy.
