My little guy Sam hadn’t pooped in a couple days. (Don’t worry, he finally did today so i am very relieved).

But I am wondering what could have caused it. It started around Saturday when I opened a new bag of the exact same food, and I almost wonder if he could smell that it was a new bag because he went almost a whole day without eating. (He is an extremely picky cat).

My boyfriend and I were also out of the house a lot over the weekend (more than normal) and I am wondering if he didn’t eat because he was stressed that we were gone? After the weekend when we were home a lot more, he began like grazing at it and slowly began eating it more. But he hadn’t pooped in a couple days and the lack of eating his normal amount kind of made me nervous because back in December, he completely stopped eating and we had to take him to the vet and it turned out he was really constipated so they gave us a laxative. Then we switched him over from Iam’s dry food to fully natural dry food with no filler ingredients (Liberty by BIXBI 10/10 recommend) and he’s been totally fine ever since then (please don’t give me advice on wet food, we have tried literally everything, but he is an extremely picky cat and will not eat anything outside of his dry food. He drinks plenty of water.)

So anyways, yesterday he pooped like 5 little tiny pellets that were kinda hard, but then finally today (like an hour ago) he finally pooped normal. And he is eating his normal amount.

Long story short do you think it was the fact that we were gone that caused him to not wanna eat which caused him to get backed up or that it was a new bag of food? I just wanna see people’s opinions, if it happens again I’ll probably take him to the vet, but I’m gonna be monitoring to make sure he’s pooping like normal
