Found by my friend on a beach in NC. “Before the outer coating dried and peeled on its own, it looked exactly like a plum, darkish purple and shiny. When I cut it open it was hollow. No seeds. It appears to be woody– very hard wood. About the size of a chestnut.” Any ideas???
