I was on a walk today. I live on a gravel road. In the middle of the road there is a single perfect circle hole. Looks pretty deep and about the same size as a quarter.
I was wondering if anyone knows what might have caused this hole. I want to put a stick down the hole to see how deep it is but playing in the middle of the street and sticking things down mystery holes doesn’t seem like a good idea.
Could an animal have made such a perfect straight down hole? Or would there be a construction purpose to make a single hole in the street? There wasn’t a core nearby like there would be when the city aerates a soccer field or something. I’m in Atlantic Canada if that helps.
