That’s it.

I was never taught how to ride a bike. Not by my biological mother and her boyfriends. Not by my adopted family.

I’ve never even had a bike. Only when I was like 3-4 years old I had a bike for kids, with like three or four wheels and then my cousin sat on it and broke it into two halves and it was never fixed.

So it was not only physically but also mentally difficult. I needed to accept that I’m now my own parent, so I am now teaching myself all those firsts: first bicycle, first car, first makeup, first hairstyle, first bra.

And I’m blessed to have my husband beside me. I’m truly blessed. He’s calm, he’s understanding. He never raises his voice. It is truly a peace I’ve never had opportunity to experience.

So today we spent 30-40 minutes, I learned some balance, got to the point where I can start riding and ride more or less straight. That’s great and I expected worse.

Also, he told me that he’s proud of me and I started bawling my eyes out
