Beyond sausage on a bun, corn on the cob.
A while ago I had to report a daycare I worked at for child abuse. It was systemic in the center. I have a duty to report, and so I did and left the company. They knew it was me, but fuck 'em, right?
Fast forward to now. I recently began a new role in a brand new daycare center that opened in my area. Didn't realize they were associated with the old daycare until I got hired and I guess someone somewhere saw my name and I got fired almost immediately. Left a different job for this position.
And now I'm trying to get *someone* to care that a daycare organization is obviously retaliating against whistleblowers and I keep getting met with "that's not our department". Education and childcare related governing bodies tell me it's an employment governing body issue, employment tells me it's education. No one cares that people with a duty to report are being silenced.
No wonder educators are burnt out as hell. I'm so tired.
