The “Berserker of Stamford Bridge” was a lone, axe-wielding Viking who single-handedly blocked the entire Anglo-Saxon army at the Battle of Stamford Bridge in September 1066. This Norwegian alone allegedly cut down more than 40 Englishmen during his defiant last stand.
