Hi,
I bought an apartment which had a built in media unit. It’s attached to the wall in the living room.
I need to remove it and came across this weird fixture attached to the wall. There was a space in the media unit to make it fit against the wall. There is also a hole cut out on the bottom of the unit, so I guess they had something attached to it?
I did a Google search but couldn’t find this exact item in the results.
I bought an expensive walnut media unit and would prefer not to cut into it just so I can fit it against the wall.
The best guess from Google was that it’s some kind of plumbing fixture, but I have no idea why it would be in the living room underneath a media unit that was supposedly installed when the apartment was first built.
The previous owner was a plumber so it seems like he may have had this installed on the lowdown and it definitely wasn’t mentioned anywhere when we purchased the apartment.
Could someone please help identify what it is exactly and the best way for me to remove it safely?
Thank you!
