The captain told everyone to stay seated because of a “security issue.”
Passengers on a Breeze Airways flight expected something serious.
Instead, police boarded the aircraft to remove a man who allegedly took an item from the airline’s buy-on-board snack cart after crew members told him he couldn’t.
According to police, the passenger later agreed to pay for the snack. No criminal charges were filed, and Breeze confirmed there had been no actual security breach.
The incident still ended with officers boarding the plane, the passenger being escorted off, and everyone else waiting at the gate.
Stealing from an airline isn’t allowed, and passengers are expected to follow crew instructions. But the outcome has sparked debate online.
Should police have been called over a snack—or was this an overreaction?
