“I will NEVER FLY INTO THERE. NEVER!”
That’s what one furious traveler wrote after Palm Beach International Airport was officially renamed Donald J. Trump International Airport.
The $2.75 million rebrand went into effect last week, complete with a new airport code: DJT. Airport officials braced for backlash, adding a disclaimer to their comment form warning the change “may be received in different ways.”
It wasn’t enough.
Public records show dozens of angry messages flooding in within days — from locals calling it “disgusting” and “pompous,” to business owners vowing to reroute travelers to other airports entirely, to a Canadian visitor who says they’ll never step foot in the terminal again.
Not everyone hated it.
A handful of commenters praised the move, saying the president “deserves” the honor.
So what do you think? Is this a fitting tribute—or a $2.75 million mistake? Would you boycott an airport over a name change — or is this just political noise?
