There is a cult video called "Grave Robbing For Morons." It was circulated on VHS and DVD by bootleg sites as far back as the early 2000s. Lately, it's passed around online. The video shows a long-haired teenager with a stutter holding bones that he claims are authentic, and from a grave that he robbed. It has never been determined whether the bones are real, or who the young man (who ar one point identifies himself only as "Anthony") is/was. The year it was made is 1989 or after, based on specific VHS tapes and magazines seen in the video.
The video can be seen in several places online for free, including YouTube.
There is a subreddit about this, r/GRFMOrigin.
Recently, a young (15yo) poster cameinto that subreddit with the above picture, claiming it was from a photo given to his uncle. He claimed that his uncle went to school with Anthony, and that more details are forthcoming.
Several people in the sub said that the picture looks like it was AI generated. And indeed, the kid has a history of posting AI-generated pictures of people in "looksmaxxing" subs.
The reasons I think rhis is AI:
-The lifeless stare.
-It looks kind of like Anthony, but is "off" somehow. His face is leaner and longer.
-Artifacting. There is a strange noise around the face
-The picture doesn't look like pictures from that time period. It looks more like a filter. Kind of like how those "camcorder" filters on digital phones/cameras don't really look like VHS.
-Black & white. Seems like kids taking pictures in high school would have used color film. My theory is that this kid thought "old" meant b&w.
-The "photo" looks like a piece of paper. As if it were printed at home and cut out. The kid has resisted any request to show a clearer picture of the "photo."
-The hair and clothes strongly resemble those in the video, i.e., the only known pictures (well, video) of Anthony. Which makes me think the AI was prompted with that video or a stills from it.
Here is the video (CONTENT WARNING: POSSIBLE HUMAN REMAINS, LANGUAGE), in case anyone wants to compare the source to the photo above.
