“American follows all airport names and guidance as determined by international bodies as well as federal, state and local governments.”

That’s the line American Airlines is now handing to gate agents and reservation staff.

Why?

Because Palm Beach International Airport officially became President Donald J. Trump International Airport on July 9 — and the airline knows passengers are going to have questions.

Starting August 18, the airport’s code will even change from PBI to DJT across AA’s website, app, and booking systems.

American isn’t taking a side. The memo makes clear the decision came from the Florida Legislature and IATA, not the airline. Employees are being told to point the finger at lawmakers, not apologize or debate the merits with customers.

Still, it’s a rare move — an airline writing official talking points just to prepare staff for political blowback over a name on a terminal.

Would you be upset flying into “DJT”? Or is this just another airport name change people will get used to?
